Completion methods

When a request is completed, you will be prompted to record what contact method was used to resolve the request, from the list below:

This step is useful for a number of reasons, most notably for reporting purposes, allowing us to report on how requests are being completed within the practice (and to compare this with what methods patients are requesting).

We can also then use this data to compile GPAD reporting submissions for your practice activity.

If you use writeback, we attach relevant SNOMED codes to requests based on the method selected from the list above, to SNOMED code the activity as well.

Telephone resolution

Requests resolved by telephone are slightly different, and are divided into two separate completion methods:

  • Called Patient - Where you have already called the patient as part of managing their request, this would therefore be counted as an 'appointment' within askmyGP for GPAD reporting

  • Telephone appt booked - Where the patient has not yet been called, but a future telephone appointment has been booked in your clinical system's appointment ledger - that activity will then be counted as an 'appointment' within your appointment book for GPAD reporting

This distinction is to avoid double counting in GPAD reporting.
