We have a practice where the GPs are not keen on a triage process. It is felt that the workload would increase with this option. This is effectively online access to triage is it not?

This is digital triage, it is not the same as telephone triage. If you don’t have triage, you are effectively allowing the patient to decide whether an appointment is warranted, whereas actually only about 1/3 of patients need this. We did a lot of work with telephone triage that is certainly more efficient than face to face, but digital triage is different because the patient has written it down in their own time, then in only takes seconds for you to decide how to deal with it.  Size is no issue, we have practices of 3000, and practices of 32 000 working successfully in this way.
